Required Training
The “list of required courses for any research projects with restricted data” will depend on the research project and the materials being used. For example, if the restricted data relates to a controlled pathogen, the PI and lab staff may have to do the appropriate biological training. However, these training requirements would be covered through “other” avenues such as registration of the biological project with Environmental Health and Safety.
ELECTRONIC PROTECTED HEALTH INFORMATION (EPHI) (HIPAA)
To use the HiPerGator-RV system to store and work with electronic protected health information (ePHI), UF staff and researchers must successfully complete the appropriate HIPAA training module annually:
- HIPAA General Awareness (UF Training Course: UF_PRV800v_OLT)
OR
- HIPAA & Privacy for Researchers
Your position may also require completion of:
- IRB802 -OLT IRB01 Mandatory Local Training Refresher
EXPORT-CONTROLLED DATA (ITAR/EAR)
Any persons working with export controlled data under a technology control plan (TCP) must take an initial training course or an annual refresher before they begin working with the export controlled data. Regardless of whether it is their initial training or annual refresher, everyone is required to take the course RSH330 – Export Control Annual Review, in the myTraining system. Anyone who thinks they need to take the training may contact exportcontrol@research.ufl.edu to be authorized to register for the course. The training module can be accessed at the following link, but note that you will not be able to register unless you have received authorization:
STUDENT DATA (FERPA)
UF Training Course: UF_PR802_OLT
Research Computing Training
After these basic requirements are met, you must also complete:
- PRV807 HiPerGator-RV training module
All required training courses are available online at http://mytraining.hr.ufl.edu.
The ResVault Security Training Slides are available to view as a PDF.
